Job Description

Due to a recent promotion, Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Director of Housekeeping to join the team at our brand-new upscale hotel. Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU provides Tempe with 330 guest rooms, 36,000 square feet of event space, and four new food and beverage outlets. Featuring a rooftop upscale restaurant and the largest ballroom in the area, we expect to provide tremendous options for our guests for dining and entertainment.

So where does the Director of Housekeeping fit in? This role will be establishing the cleaning standards for all of our guest rooms and developing systems that will ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction. Working closely with the Director of Rooms and Housekeeping Managers, this role will be instrumental in building a warm, welcoming, and supportive culture within the housekeeping department. This will be accomplished through leading by example and hiring a team of amazing Room Attendants.

Our chosen candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish, possess a superb eye for detail, and a maintain a supportive leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standards of cleanliness and provide a consistent guest experience as documented by AAA 4-Diamond standards.
• Build a winning and nurturing culture of highly motivated and trained associates that continually strive for excellence in service and cleanliness.
• Train the department to execute all of Omni Hotels facility standards and guidelines.
• Ensure a smooth, efficient, and economically responsible operation in the housekeeping department.
• Work with purchasing to specify and procure supplies.
• Assist in monitoring the preventative maintenance program throughout the hotel.
• Constantly monitor and control all labor costs to achieve targeted budget directives.
• Maintain close coordination, communication, and interaction with front desk, to ensure rooms are available for sale, and with engineering to ensure guest rooms and all public areas are at peak operative levels.
• Monitor all guest requests to ensure they are met within prescribed time limits.
• Inspect and tour all public areas.
• Inspect all VIP rooms.
• Monitor guests’ complaints accordingly and take corrective action when necessary.
• Maintain and administer monthly linen inventories, responsible for action plans to address shrinkage.
• Assist with budget process as required by Director of Rooms.
• Develop master cleaning schedules and administer accordingly.
• Monitor all Housekeeping inventories to ensure adequate supplies are available, complete analysis of amenity consumption.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a full-service l4-diamond hotel or resort.
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or equivalent experience required.
• Exceptional guest service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A nurturing leadership style.
• Ability to always remain calm and professional while possessing good judgment.
• Professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Requires repetitive motion. May work both indoors and outdoors in motor lobby parking area.

*This position is a full-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.
