This schedule is Monday to Friday days mostly with weekends as needed on a rare occasion and no holidays. This is a morning shift, expected 35 - 50 hours per week and the pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Responsibilities Event Ordering: Responsible for placing orders for ingredients and supplies required for various events. Food Cost Management: Research and manage food costs by sourcing items and ingredients from different vendors. Ensure efficient food preparation to minimize waste. Prep Lists: Create task and food preparation lists in preparation for each event. Kitchen and Storage Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper upkeep of the kitchen and storage areas. Includes transporting equipment and items to and from different locations. Health Code Standards: Strict adherence to all Health Code Standards administered by the Florida Department of Health. Annual renewal of Food Safe Certification is mandatory. Communication: Maintain regular and open communication with the Food Service Director. This includes discussing event details, identifying missing items, addressing important topics, and sharing pertinent information. Shopping List Management: Update the shopping list by removing unnecessary items ("86 items") and adding new items as required. Inventory Management: Develop and maintain an inventory list of commonly used kitchen items and recipe ingredients. Update the list when new items are introduced or existing items are depleted. Complete inventory weekly, either on Sunday or Monday, based on the event schedule. Requirements A minimum of 3 years of professional kitchen experience as a cook. Catering experience is highly preferred, demonstrating adaptability and creativity in culinary execution. Proficiency in food preparation techniques and familiarity with culinary terminology. Exceptional multitasking abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
