Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Marketing Manager will lead the development and implementation of dynamic marketing strategies, storytelling campaigns, and public relations for the Economic Action Group. This position will manage existing channels of communication and will advance the goals and priorities of the EAG 2024-2027 Strategic Plan.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Nonprofit Leadership, or related field from an accredited college or university.
2. At least one-year relevant experience in nonprofits, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
3. High level of professional ethics.
4. Excellent written/oral communication and listening skills, and ability to utilize new technologies for communication.
5. Ability to work with key partners and manage relationships with program clients and neighborhood residents.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects/workloads simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
7. Ability to proactively solve problems with sound judgment and intuition.
8. Marketing skills including social media management, public relations, photography, videography, graphic design, newsletters, website management, etc.
9. Experience using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Reader; and Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
10. Experience using Google Drive, Google docs, and other Google functions.
11. Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission and vision.
12. Ability to work independently of and in collaboration with other staff of the organization.
13. Proven experience in working with constituencies in urban neighborhoods.
14. Understanding of nonprofit organizational structure and related material.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinate marketing efforts in existing channels through social media, web development, and public relations.
2. Establish strategies for the growth of storytelling, public relations, and communications that will create new channels for marketing the organization.
3. Organize marketing calendars, schedules, and implementation timelines for newly created strategies.
4. Implement objectives and action items identified in the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, namely in the advancement of Pillar IV: Visibility of EAG.
5. Perform marketing research within each community to better identify target audiences and needs.
6. Review existing and develop new marketing documents that maintain consistency, relevancy, and advancement of organizational priorities.
7. Design and manage programs and events in concert with the Operations Manager and CPR Project Coordinator.
8. Collaborate with the Development Associate to advance storytelling efforts, fundraising narratives, and to adhere to funding guidelines, donor recognition, and reporting needs.
9. Document activities, programs, and events for the organization through diverse media, including photography, videography, and written reports.
10. Develop and maintain strong relationships with critical partners including: strategic organizational partners, local government, realtors, banks, community organizations, neighborhood groups, and funders.
