Job purpose

Omega is looking for an individual with a strong work ethic that is willing to learn and grow with us as a company, and team. We are looking for individuals with beginner to intermediate experience in construction and welding. We fabricate miscellaneous and structural members, install handrailing, beam cuts at new builds, post-to-beam welds, and many custom projects as well.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a field laborer, your direct supervisor(s) would be within the Project Management Team, however, there may be occasions you will help in the shop with the Shop Foreman.

Examples of tasks and responsibilities include:

• Provide general labor support as the project requires.
• Manual material handling involving heavy lifting of various steel products.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools as needed.
• Reading drawings to interpret cut lengths and tolerances
• Basic welding tasks (mostly stick and occasionally MIG
• Grinding operations

Qualifications

To effectively fill the role of Field Labor, the ideal candidate would meet the following qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to work as a member of a team.
• Ability to perform work at government installations preferred.
• Proficiency in fractional math.
• Strong skills in reading and interpreting blueprints and assembly drawings preferred.
• Experience using power tools preferred
• Valid Colorado driver's license
• Understanding of safe working practices

Working conditions This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week Monday through Friday. Occasionally, we may ask for overtime; weekends and evening work may be required in special and rare circumstances. The work environment will be in the field, dealing with contractors and customers, as needed, per jobsite. Work is performed in various weather conditions. When not in the field or in the yard helping with maintenance, you will assist in shop operations.

Physical requirements This position requires lifting objects up to 75 pounds on a regular basis, standing and or sitting for extended periods of time. You may be required to work in confined spaces, from heights, and in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels. This position will require use of Personal Protective Equipment, including gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, hard hats, etc.

Job Basics

Wage Range: $20 per hour depending on experience & certifications

Full Time: 40 hours per week

Non-Exempt: Eligible for Overtime pay after 40 hours in a work week

Schedule:

• 7:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 12:00 pm Fridays

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Colorado Springs, CO 80907: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Prior construction experience preferred but not required

Work Location: Report to shop and work at varying jobsites
