Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Office Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support and ensuring efficient operations within a medical office setting. Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date personal and insurance information
- Schedule appointments and manage the office calendar
- Assist with medical record management, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies
- Take patient vital signs, record medical history, and update patient charts
- Assist healthcare providers with minor procedures and examinations as needed
- Administer medications under the direction of healthcare professionals
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns in a professional manner
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
-Experience in Personal Injury
-Certified as a Medical assistant
( preference )
Ability to perform UA samples and work in a fast paced environment
Understanding of icd 10 codes and billing
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical office assistant program is preferred
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic pharmacology
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and schedules
