Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Assisted Living Medical Technician to join our team at an assisted living facility. The Assisted Living Medical Technician will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care and support to residents, ensuring their well-being and promoting a safe and comfortable living environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to resident care. 

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  1. Resident Care: Provide direct care and assistance to residents based on their individualized care plans, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  2. Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents accurately and on schedule, following established protocols and maintaining proper documentation.
  3. Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly assess and record residents' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation levels, promptly reporting any abnormalities or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  4. Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, following facility policies and procedures, and providing immediate care and assistance to residents in distress.
  5. Health Monitoring: Monitor residents' overall health and well-being, observing for changes in physical or mental status and promptly reporting any concerns to the healthcare team.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of residents' medical records, care plans, medication administration, and any incidents or observations, ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
  7. Resident Support: Offer emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to residents, fostering a positive and nurturing environment that promotes their independence and dignity.
  8. Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for residents.
  9. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
  10. Training and Education: Participate in ongoing training and educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills, staying updated on best practices in geriatric care, medication management, and emergency response.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a state-approved Assisted Living Medical Technician training program or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
  2. Licensing/Certification: Possession of a valid Medical Technician certification or licensure, if required by the state or facility.
  3. Experience: Previous experience working in an assisted living facility or a similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  4. Medical Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic medical terminology, procedures, and practices relevant to geriatric care.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  6. Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrated empathy and genuine concern for the well-being of elderly residents, with the ability to provide compassionate care and emotional support.
  7. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration, documentation, and resident care.
  8. Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  9. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform physical tasks associated with resident care for extended periods.
  10. Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the facility and residents.
