Olympic Jumping Complex Hill Maintenance Crew

Be a part of the essential team that prepares and maintains the world cup level ski jumping hills at the iconic Olympic Jumping Complex in Lake Placid! The general maintenance team supports day to day operations, working as a team with the other venue departments to ensure a high level of readiness for both world class athletes and for visiting general public. In the winter months tasks inlcude snow removal, snow making, snow and ice preparation on the ski jumping hills as well as event preparation and set up. Additional responsibilities include general grounds keeping, maintenance projects and improvements around the venue.

Desired skills of the position include but are not limited to; good knowledge of tools, equipment, machinery, carpentry, plumbing and rigging.

Successful candidates will perform a variety of jobs including minor laboring tasks, general maintenance, as well as operation of a wide array of equipment including, but not limited to, front-end loaders, road-graders, tractor mowers, and snowplows. Nights, weekends and holiday work will be required. Applicants should have at least one year’s experience related to the above and possession of a valid/clean New York State Driver’s License. Classified as Maintenance Assistants with an entry rate of $18.01 per hour, plus benefits as defined under the CSEA contract. Premium pay for evening/night work as well as work on holidays. Pay is commensurate with skills and experience.
