Salary Range: $20.53 - $20.53 Hourly

Job Description:

Provide direction for the program and staff, and implement program curriculum in a safe, enjoyable, positive and inclusive environment.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

-Plan and Implement daily lesson and activity plans

-Supervise all children and activities within program area, often independently

-Manage a classroom of up to 20 children including maintain a daily schedule, responding to

individual needs and creating a positive climate.

-Regularly observes, schedules and completes evaluations for each child

-Maintain communication with parents, conduct regularly scheduled parent conferences, and engage parents as volunteers

-Maintain materials, equipment, and program facility

-Maintain required program records

-Diapering and toilet training including assisting children in changing out of soiled clothing.

-Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Qualifications:

-Minimum age 18, 21 is preferred.

-Have an ECE state certificate or equivalent, pursuant to WAC 110-300-100

-Provide documentation of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, and portable background check, pursuant to WAC 110-300-100

-Have two years of experience as a teacher of children in any age group enrolled in the early learning program or two years of experience in administration or management, pursuant to WAC 110-300-100

-Be onsite for the daily operation of the early learning program fifty percent or more of weekly operating hours up to forty hours per week, pursuant to WAC 110-300-105

-Plan, organize, and implement high quality developmentally appropriate programming

-Early Achievers knowledge preferred

-USDA program knowledge preferred

Physical Demands:

As directed, lead and participate in a range of activities in indoor/outdoor settings. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise program activities. Staff may be required to move weights of approximately 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to use written and oral

communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve non-routine and complex problems; may use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; perform highly detailed work on multiple,concurrent tasks; work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions; and interact with members, staff, volunteers, and others encountered in the course of work, some of whom may be dissatisfied individuals.

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Valid drivers license

  • Driving record which meets or exceeds YMCA standards, driver records request will be submitted
