Job Purpose Statement(s): The job of “Teacher – Special Education – Developmental Learning Classroom” is done for the purpose(s) of facilitating Special Education student success in pre-academics /academics, interpersonal skills and activities of functional daily living through implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching as well as student progress / activities, outcomes; addressing specific needs of student; providing a safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Certificated Required Attachments:
This 180 day per year position works Monday – Friday, 8:40 am – 4:10 pm.
The job of the DLC teacher is to facilitate Special Education student success in pre-academics/academics, interpersonal skills and activities of functional daily living through implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching as well as student progress/activities and outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
This position requires a credential in Special Education and experience working with cognitively impacted populations is preferred. The DLC teacher manages a large group of paraeducators, to include developing their daily schedules and directing their time. The DLC teacher will work with one other DLC teacher and manage a caseload of 10 students.
