As Grand Mound Communications continues to grow rapidly, we are looking to fill a full-time, benefit-eligible General Manager position for our cooperative located in Grand Mound, Iowa. Grand Mound Communications is a telecommunications company with a rich history of over 100 years of providing excellent customer service. In this unique role, the General Manager is responsible for overseeing daily business operations, creating and implementing strategic plans, representing Grand Mound Communications within the industry, coordinating communications and compliance activities, and helping further drive continued growth of the cooperative. This position also acts as the Chief Operating Officer and reports directly to the Board of Directors. Salary is dependent on education and experience.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Thorough understanding of the rural telecommunications industry including the competitive, regulatory, and technical challenges
• Understand risk analysis, focus on continued development, and recognize strategic diversification opportunities
• Leadership skills and the ability to manage a dynamic team of seven
• Strong business, project management, communication, and marketing skills
• Self-motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and an eye on growth and innovation

What are the qualifications?

In addition to what's listed above, candidates should be aware of the following qualifications and requirements for this position:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Telecommunications, or a related field, an Associate's Degree may also be considered.
• Fixed wireless network and equipment experience is a plus.
• At least 5 years of Telecommunications experience and 3 years of supervisory experience is preferred
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must be able to travel 2-3 days a month across Iowa and neighboring states
• Ability to perform work activities and attend events outside of normal business hours as necessary
