Olmsted Falls City School District is Hiring a Home Instruction Tutor Near Olmsted, OH

Olmsted Falls City Schools has a Home Instruction Tutor vacancy for the 2023-2024 school year.
Rate of Pay: $30.35 an hour up to 10 hours per week.


Reports to:
Superintendent, Principal, Director of Student Services


Job Objectives:
Directs and evaluates the learning experience of students in all activities sponsored by the district as a home instructor. Enable the students to reach their fullest physical, emotional, psychological, and behavioral potential.


Minimum

Qualifications:

  • Valid Ohio teacher’s license or certificate appropriate for the assignment.
  • Meets all mandated health requirements.
  • Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
  • Documentation of a clear criminal record as required by law.

Note: Appointment may require successful completion of communicable disease, child abuse, CPR, first aid, and/or behavioral management training.


Responsibilities
and Essential Functions:

The following duties are representative of performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions.

  • Maintains professional ethics.
  • Is aware of current methods of instruction as they relate to the various disability conditions.
  • Cooperates with the school counselor and classroom teachers in making accommodations for students with disabilities and in sharing information relevant to their functioning and needs.
  • Presents clear, complete, and accurate explanations of current levels of functioning of their students.
  • Provides specialized daily instruction that addresses Ohio’s Content Standards with an emphasis on individual instruction.
  • Implements positive behavior supports according to classroom and individual plans and gathers data to guide plan modification.
  • Communicates regularly and competently with parents of students regarding student progress.
  • Utilizes assistive technology to augment student progress.
  • Requisitions materials and supplies from the Principal and/or Director of Student Services in order to provide specialized instruction.
  • Maintains records as required by district and department policy.


Working
Conditions:

Exposure to the following situations may range from remote to frequent based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable.

  • Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens and communicable disease.
  • Potential for interaction with disruptive and/or unruly individuals.
  • Duties may require operating and/or riding in a vehicle.
  • Duties may require lifting, carrying, and/or moving instructional supplies and equipment.
  • Duties may require performing activities including stooping, reaching, kneeling, and/or crouching.
  • Duties may require traveling to meetings and work assignments.
  • Duties may include communicating needed assistance to assigned aides and volunteers.
  • Duties may require considerable telephone contact and paperwork.
  • Duties may require working under time constraints to meet deadlines.


Performance Evaluation:

Job performance is evaluated according to the policy provisions adopted by the Olmsted Falls City School District Board of Education and the OFEA contract.
