Oliver Middle School is seeking a counselor for a long term leave of at least 6 months, beginning in August 2024. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:- Delivering counseling services to students both as part of their IEP as well as by request for students in their assigned grade band- Running social skills groups to support student SEL development- Liaising with outside providers and crisis services as necessary- Communicating with student families regarding services as appropriate- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and other school staff on student support plans- Participating in the school Student Support Team to develop supports for Tier 2 and 3 students- Supporting a safe, strong, and focused school culture- Other duties as assignedStrong candidates for this role will have:- Experience working with school age children, with a particular focus on adolescents.- Experience delivering services supporting mental and social emotional health- Experience in collaborating across multiple stakeholders in support of the whole child- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
