Overview

We are seeking Overnight Staff to supervise girls in a residential program. This includes ensuring the girls get a good-nights rest by performing regular bed checks, soothing them when they wake from bad dreams and ensuring they are safe during the night.

Responsibilities

  • The Overnight Staff will supervise, protect and care for children individually and in groups at all times, according to standards set forth by Community Care Licensing.
  • Remain awake and alert at all times.
  • The Overnight Staff will complete regular bed checks between 5–15-minute intervals.
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment by performing required quality assurance checks and document accurately and timely.
  • Upon arrival of every shift, the Overnight Staff will read client log and staff communication log, regularly read and respond to Olive Crest emails, be aware of training memos and calendars, employee communications/ memos, and other relevant information.
  • Assist each youth in working with a group and in handling individual problems.
  • Administer appropriate discipline and setting of limits for behavior.
  • Teach youths independent living skills such as getting up on time, proper hygiene skills and chores such as making beds, cleaning up after themselves, etc.
  • Ensure accurate and timely administration and documentation of medication.
  • If girls are not feeling well and need to seek medical attention, you may be asked to drive them to Urgent Care or ER.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on a daily basis, including but not limited to, intake information, personal logs, treatment notes, staff communication log, incident and runaway reports, etc.
  • Ensure that all clients are appropriately groomed and dressed at all times.
  • Ensure that house and vehicle keys are kept out of the hands of clients at all times. Ensure that clients do not have access to locked areas of the facility and ensure items such as sharps, medications and hygiene products are secured.
  • Meet Contract and Agency training requirements.
  • Attend mandatory weekly treatment team meetings. These are generally scheduled for Wednesday mornings from 9 am to 12 pm.
  • Must provide flexibility with the ability to work at any facility and on a flexible schedule as Agency needs dictate. Available to work holidays as they land on your regularly scheduled shifts.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a California Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Must have 3 years of history as a licensed driver.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must receive and maintain a criminal record clearance as determined by California’s Caregiver Background Check Bureau.
  • Must have the ability to remain awake and alert for the duration of your shift.

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.5 – 40 per week
