SUMMARY OF WORK PERFORMED:
This position is on call with variable hours (15-30 hours weekly) based on work load and incoming home study referrals for prospective foster families, and current foster family adoptions.
Conduct home study clinical interviews and write home studies in an effective and efficient manner while following all compliance standards set by state Licensing Division and Olive Crest. Strong writing skills and clinical assessment skills required. Communicate effectively with the Licensing team and Program Supervisor. Employee will need to come into the office when requested to sign appropriate paperwork, or for applicable meetings. Mileage reimbursed for trips to family homes for interviews.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Implement the directives of the Licensing Supervisor and Program Director in the areas of screening, clinical assessment, timelines and home study protocols.
2. Follow approved home study process for interviews, clinical writing, and editing. Adhere to schedule deadlines.
3. Be responsive to feedback and demonstrate willingness to ask/investigate further if there are questions, confusion or concerns.
4. Utilize clinical and therapeutic skills and techniques when discussing traumatic events.
5. Utilize effective communication between appropriate members of the Licensing team and Program Director.
6. Initiate a staffing (can be by phone) to discuss any red flags or concerns about a family.
7. Be available as needed to timely sign appropriate documentation for submittal of the Home Study.
8. Seek consultation and/or supervision when needed and/or requested.
9. Assist in ensuring accreditation, State and Olive Crest standards are being met.
10. Willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends in order to meet with families who are unable to meet during regular working hours.
11. Present Olive Crest licensing and service delivery in a professional and informative manner. Be up to date on licensing/WAC/ RCW changes.
12. Assist with Home Study training if requested.
13. Other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, social work, mental health, or related field.
2. Demonstrated clinical skills and formal training in mental health assessment.
3. Knowledge and experience with in-depth clinical interviewing.
4. Excellent writing skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to organize, plan and follow through with assigned tasks and to present oneself in a mature and professional manner.
6. Ability to drive to homes in your own vehicle within the assigned geographical area with the drive typically not exceeding 2 hours each way.
7. Willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends in order to meet with families who are unable to meet during regular working hours.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, social work, mental health, or related field.
2. Experience and comfortable working with various cultures and faith-based communities.
3. Computer skills.
4. Knowledge and previous experience with child welfare and foster care service delivery or licensing.
5. Ability to maintain a neutral, non-judgmental attitude.
