Position Overview
The Shelly Group, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Coordinator, works with the corporate accounting team responsible for activities related to effective SOX Compliance and works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure conformity is met.
This person will function as The Shelly Group's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Coordinator and manage internal and external audits.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and document internal controls related to financial reporting.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of SOX documentation, including process narratives and flowcharts.
  • Interpret business processes and identify control points to ensure SOX compliance.
  • Identify and apply best and leading practices to core business processes.
  • Act as Business Advisor to functional leaders in SOX matters.
  • Partner with business process owners to identify and communicate control deficiencies and recommend remediation actions.
  • Work with VP Finance managing activities related audits: Internal, external.
  • Coordinate with internal/external auditors during annual SOX audits, providing necessary documentation and support/
  • Monitor and report on the status of remediation activities and control enhancements
  • Perform work in compliance with applicable policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting principles.
Other Requirements:
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
  • Strict adherence to Shelly Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Shelly Company employees.
  • Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience and training in general finance and accounting areas
  • Management experience is preferred.
  • Proficient with Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must have excellent communication skills including written and verbal.
  • Hyperion experience is preferred.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Must be practical, motivated and have a high degree of initiative.
  • A dynamic thinker, who can deal with ambiguity and facilitate change.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize assignments to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to respond to stressful situations, co-workers and customers in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
