The Metal Fabricator involves making custom fabrication and aluminum store fronts by pulling stock, cutting aluminum, drilling holes, reading shop drawings, assembling aluminum frames, quality checks on final product, and loading the final product in truck. This position requires that material including glass and metal be moved from one position/location to another to expedite the product throughout the plant.

Here’s What You’ll Get To Do

• On/off-loading of product from, tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates
• Perform work as assigned by supervisor
• Read, understand, and communicate appropriately
• Complete appropriate paperwork
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages
• Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and effectively use a tape measure
• Notify lead person or supervisor of any mechanical or material issues
• Maintain a safe and clean work area
• All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production
• Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. 

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to read and perform mathematical calculations and measurements with numbers, fractions, decimals normally acquired through high school education or equivalent. 
• Work overtime with flexible starting times in some departments
• Lift up to 75 pounds
• Stand and walk on concrete floor for eight hours or more
• Wear company issued safety shirt, hard hat, steel toed boots, safety glasses and hearing protection
• Use of power chop saw, CNC mill, manual mill, air and electric drills, power screw gun, welding equipment.
• The "team concept" instituted for shop floor workers requires each worker to perform different functions on a rotating basis. Therefore, all functions are considered essential for the job.
• Safety is a primary concern in our operation, and it is incumbent on everyone entering the shop floor to follow the rules and regulations defined in our safety program explicitly including wearing required safety equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Tight gripping, cupping, clamping hand and wrist motions are required to support, carry, and maneuver up to 75 lbs. of objects/metal to platform heights of 3 feet in a manner considered safe for self and others. 
• Constant carrying, reaching, standing, and walking
• Frequent bending/twisting
• Occasional typing/keyboarding; ability to use wrists/hands/fingers
