Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School is Hiring a School Nutrition Aide SY 24/25 6a-2:30p Near Sturbridge, MA

The Nutrition Aide will report to the Nutrition Director. This person will be responsible for food preparation, food inventory, and serving food to students. This candidate will need to have knowledge of general operation of basic cafeteria equipment and follow all State Health Requirements for food service workers. Must be able to properly communicate with the school’s population. The positions hours are from 6am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Food preparation and distribution
  • Managing food allergies
  • Heavy lifting required (milk crates; food containers; etc) up to 50 pounds
  • Assist with inventory of food, supplies, other items
  • Basic knowledge of production records
  • Basic computer knowledge (email, excel, computer programs)
  • Organizing supplies, food items, paper goods
  • Rotate supplies; check dates; etc.
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Cleaning equipment and workstations
  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 1 year or more of food handling experience required
  • Prior experience in a school food service role a plus
  • Allergen Awareness Certificate and/or can obtain within 90 days
  • Serv-Safe Certification and/or can obtain within 90 days
  • CPR Training and Choking certification and/or can obtain within 90 days

This position requires a satisfactory background check, which includes CORI and Fingerprinting.
