OLD EDWARDS HOSPITALITY GROUP LLC is Hiring a Sales Associate Near Highlands, NC

The Sales Associates main goal is to support the Sales Team, mainly with clerical and administrative tasks. They will also solicit, book and detail groups for all company sponsored and in-house events and social and corporate business for the department. The Sales Associate position includes a vast array of diverse duties and requires a fine eye for detail, organization, prioritization and follow-through.


Responsibilities

  • Learn and perform daily Weddings and Special Events Office operations. This includes, collateral inventory and management, answering phone calls, greeting customers and providing support to the Wedding and Special Events Team
  • Field incoming wedding, corporate and social leads by collecting information and qualifying accounts. Prepare and send proposals, estimates and on-line requests for proposals. Arrange and conduct site tours with both market segments
  • Maintain multiple in-house accounts daily. Self-manage emails, voicemails, and appointments with upcoming bookings
  • Utilize Delphi and Social Tables to process accounts, bookings and meeting space requirements
  • Prepare banquet event orders (BEOs) for client approval and interdepartmental communication
  • Print menus, escort cards, event postings and any other needed printed materials and collateral as required by the Sales Team. This is a major responsibility of the position and requires an eye for detail as well as strong writing skills
  • Respond to clients, vendors, and staff needs in a courteous professional time frame and manner.
  • Represent Old Edwards at trade shows and events, as needed
  • Attend and participate in meetings as scheduled
  • Have thorough knowledge of the hotel and surrounding area and provide information regarding various amenities and off-site attractions to clients
  • Complete special projects and requests in an effective and timely manner
  • Complete the weekly Sales and Catering Check List
  • High school diploma/GED required, 4-year degree preferred. One year experience in Catering or Sales preferred. Two years of hospitality experience is required. Current and valid driver’s license required
  • Organizational and time management skills required
  • Proven excellent oral and written communication
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to remain calm and objective in stressful situations
  • Must be conflict resolution oriented and able to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Scheduling flexibility is required as this position requires a 50-hour work week including working some evenings, holidays, early mornings and weekends
  • Thorough knowledge of Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe), familiarity with Delphi, Delphi Diagrams, Power BEO and Social Tables
  • Must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to type, write, file, etc. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk the property, climb stairs and sit for periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Duties are performed indoors and outdoors in all four seasons, often exposed to different elements including rain, cold and heat. Events most often involve loud music
