Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join our Communications Department. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for design and a keen eye for detail. This role involves maintaining brand standards for district-level materials and utilizing creativity to support both online and print campaigns. Key Responsibilities:
Design and produce compelling digital and print materials that comply with Olathe Public Schools' brand standards.

Collaborate with the communications team to conceptualize and execute creative solutions for marketing campaigns, events, and various communication materials.

Manage multiple projects from concept through completion under tight deadlines.

Provide creative input and suggestions to continuously improve the visual representation of our brand.

Capture engaging photographs of students, staff, and district activities to be utilized across multiple platforms (including print, social media, and video) to amplify the narrative impact of our initiatives and campaigns.
Operate independently, with minimal supervision, while also contributing as a collaborative team member.

Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, technologies, and best practices.

Partner in the creative process to visually present information in a way that resonates clearly and effectively with specific audiences.

Collaborate with the Graphic Communications department and external suppliers to manage print production tasks as required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other graphic design software.

Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design skills, particularly in layout and typography.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently as a self-starter and efficiently manage time and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the education sector or a similar field.

Knowledge and experience in photography and photo editing.

Familiarity with web design principles and software.

Demonstrated ability to think creatively and provide marketable design solutions.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires the performance of light work-exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The position includes occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
