The Technical Account Management Team

A global team that partners with Okta's Customer Success team and collaborates with Okta's customers to share knowledge, best practices and make recommendations to continuously innovate around identity and security. We are Okta product experts, and we enable Okta's worldwide growth by educating existing customers and ensuring they are happy and successful. We share our technical and product expertise with customers through presentations, demonstrations, technical evaluations, and ongoing recommendations on Okta and industry best practices.

The Analyst, Technical Account Management Opportunity

This role is vital in scaling how we drive success for Okta's customers across Workforce Identity Cloud (WIC), Customer Identity Cloud (CIC), and adjacent technologies. This role will support the growing volume of customers in our digitally-led engagement model. In this role, you will ensure that customers in this engagement model achieve the full value of their investment.

This position is for those who wish to build their career in a customer-facing, technically-minded SaaS team. In this position, you will have time to work towards various product certifications and training to develop your ability to work with diverse accounts and grow your technical understanding. We don't expect that you have all the experience already, but we want folks who have drive and passion for the space and the opportunity.

In return, you will have support from the TAM Manager and close working relationships across the team to develop a winning formula. We utilize best-in-class tools, including Salesforce, Gainsight, Looker, Google Docs, Zoom, as well as in-house tooling, and we strive to provide our team with further career opportunities.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide timely and professional responses to inbound customer inquiries.
  • Help customers achieve their technical objectives by delivering timely technical guidance, enablement, and best practices materials.
  • Demonstrate to clients how existing and new product capabilities work to address their technical scenarios.
  • Execute prescriptive playbook-based activities to address customer issues and risks.
  • Support the wider team to execute 1:many programs that remove roadblocks and enable ongoing adoption by customers.
  • Continuously increase knowledge of Okta's product offerings, earn related certifications, and keep up to date on new features and industry trends.

What you'll bring to the role

  • A passion to serve the customer by learning how to communicate complex ideas and solutions to their business challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to set clear expectations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, perform customer research, generate reports, and analyze data.
  • Analytical and problem-solving minded, detail and results-oriented, and a quick learner.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies, tools, or platform capabilities in order to apply them to meet customer needs.
  • Basic knowledge of the software development lifecycle, as well as interest in programming languages, cloud-based infrastructure, solution design, integrations, and digital security.
  • Basic familiarity with Identity and Access Management concepts and security principles for enterprise IT and consumer applications.
  • An interest in influencing customer behavior and health metrics to drive mutual success.
  • Familiarity with SaaS platforms and services, their adoption, integration, and ongoing use.
  • Experience in any of the following: Technical Support, Technical Account Management, Technical Consulting, Product Management, Solution Architect, or similar roles is a plus.
  • Passionate for a career in Digital, SaaS / Cloud technology that requires technical acumen.

The OTE range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:

$87,000—$131,000 USD

Below is the annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual OTE, which is inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable) and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual OTE range for this position for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:

$78,000—$116,000 USD
