Job Summary:

The Desk Operations Supervisor is a full-time position primarily responsible for coordinating and implementing the operation of service desks in the residence halls. This position is responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, and developing all desk clerk staff within single student housing (SSH).
This position coordinates and facilitates the resources, policies and procedures necessary to support the education and safety of residents, guests and staff of HRL. This position works in close partnership with all HRL staff to ensure adequate staff coverage of the residential communities. This position is responsible for creating an environment of impeccable customer service and prompt acknowledgement and resolution of student and parent concerns.
Other responsibilities include assisting with emergency planning and response with appropriate HRL staff. Supports safety education initiatives and participates in committee meetings for the department. This position will also be responsible for conducting key and security audits of desk area and for assisting in the management of the package delivery and distribution system.
This is typically 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, with occasional evening meetings and some weekends. Heavier work loads occur at the beginning and the ending of the academic semesters. This position may also be required to work some University holidays as part of the crisis response team. Must be able to travel across campus for meetings and events.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field. Six months of related work experience. Experience providing customer service in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree. 

Previous experience in college or university housing. Experience supervising undergraduate staff, experience in crisis management, ability to work cooperatively with a diverse student body, ability to work autonomously, demonstrated strong time management and organization skills.

Experience managing a service desk or related operation, assessment and evaluation of policies and procedures, strong relational and communication skills with non-student constituents at the institution (parents, staff, campus partners, etc.).
