JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for processing goods in the warehouse, assisting truck drivers, and various other warehouse duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Determine and process items that are salable, clean and safe.
  • Assist in production or warehousing.
  • Assist is maintenance and cleaning of warehouse.
  • Bales clothes and operates baling machine.
  • Rides with Drivers to delivers product to GICO stores.
  • Picks up salvage and trash from stores.
  • Pick up goods from Attended Donation Centers and Stores.
  • Ride with drivers to make special pickups on Saturday or Sunday.
  • Abide by GICOs policies and procedures.
  • Punctual & dependable attendance
  • Attends trainings as necessary
  • Reviews and is familiar with GICOs safety policies, programs and procedures. Adheres to all safety rules, regulations and safety codes, and attends safety training sessions and necessary safety meetings.
  • Responsible for housekeeping of receiving area (inside and outside)

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties and projects as required by management.
  • Provide excellent customer service to store personnel and donors.
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Responsible for daily reports of production totals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to stand, twist, bend, kneel and reach for long periods of time (up to 8 hours a day).
  • Good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Warehouse environment, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles.
  • The noise level is usually moderate.
  • Work schedule may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime, when approved by manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior warehouse experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Good verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.
  • Good decision making skills.
