  • Here at the Oklahoma Forensic Center the Nursing department is hiring for Registered Nurses that would provide direct care for consumers of behavioral health treatment in an inpatient setting. Duties would include providing professional nursing services to include but not limited to: nursing assessments, planning, interventions, health related education, case management and administering medications and treatments prescribed by a person authorized to prescribe by state law.
Job Type/Salary:
  • Open/Close dates: 4/5/2024-untill filled
  • Full-time
  • Hourly payrate: Level III- $36.77/hr, Level II- $34.85/hr, Level I- $33.65/hr
  • $3:00/hr shift differentials when working evening, nights, weekends or holidays.
  • Primary Working Hours are: 6:30am-3:00 pm; 2:30pm-11:00pm and 10:45pm-6:45am
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
  • Primary Work Location/Department:  Oklahoma Forensic Center/Nursing

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • (Level 3)- Bachelor’s in Nursing and possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) and one year of professional nursing experience OR associate in Nursing and two years of professional nursing experience OR Associate in Nursing and three years of LPN experience in psychiatric nursing. (Level II)- Bachelor’s in Nursing and possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or Registered Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) OR Associate in Nursing and one year of professional nursing experience OR Associate in Nursing and two years of LPN experience in psychiatric nursing. (Level I)- Associate in Nursing and possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or Registered Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Note: If the applicant has an out of state license with eNLC, he/she cannot be in a position that bills.
Special Requirements:
  • Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
  • Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.

About us: The Oklahoma Forensic Center encompasses a 24 hour/365 day secure inpatient forensic facility, forensic step-down unit (TRC) and jail competency services for the State of Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) located in Vinita employs around 260 individuals and has approximately 216 consumers whom have been found incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity. Transitions Recovery Center (TRC) also in Vinita, is a secure 52-bed forensic step-down unit. Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Pre-placement Testing: Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK.
