Description
Under the supervision of the Personal Property Supervisor, performs duties relative to the assessment of the Personal Property including Businesses, Farms and Manufactured Homes in Oklahoma County.
1. Research and appraise Personal Property for assessment purposes.
2. Process Personal Property renditions, hard copies and electronically using Microsoft Excel/Access to extract, sort and calculate data from spreadsheets.
3. Perform analysis of processed work to confirm quality control using Microsoft Excel, Access and various custom software to generate filters and reports.
4. Assist the public in person and over the phone with Personal Property inquiries.
5. Frequently performs inquiries and account updates utilizing specialized computer assisted appraisal software.
6. Reviews data for accuracy of assessments and processes corrections as needed.
7. Coordinates with the field appraisers to ensure proper assessments of Personal Property.
8. Prepares the appropriate forms and documents as required by Oklahoma Statues.
9. Seasonally completes on site field inspections of Personal Property.
10. All duties assigned by your supervisor and/or the administrative office.
For seasonal field inspections of Personal Property, it is necessary to have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with at least the minimum state required vehicle liability insurance. Mileage is reimbursed at the amount authorized by provisions of the federal Government Services Administration (GSA) in its Federal Travel Regulation (FTR).
Experience
Good office skills and works well with both the public and team members. Advanced computer software knowledge required including extensive experience with Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Access or other database management systems experience preferred. Able to promptly answer email, phone calls, in-person inquiries and any other electronic communications utilizing good verbal and written communication skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
Education Required
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED. Advanced computer software knowledge required including extensive experience with Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Access or other database management systems experience preferred. Must achieve Advanced Accreditation status of State Assessment Classes within first 18 months of employment and maintain 30 hours of continuing education credit every (3) three years.
