Student Records Specialist

Roles:

* Responsible for processing and filing all university applications, domestic/international documents, and inputting data into multiple software systems.

* Demonstrate commitment to diversity and ability to communicate and positively engage students and colleagues across racial, gender and cultural barriers.

* Serve as the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) OR Designated School Official (DSO), maintaining the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and all related certification requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Processing and filing all university applications for admission, clearing application errors in the database, deferring and canceling applications.

* Clear application errors in the records database.

* File transcripts, test scores, and international documents.

* Review submitted documents for admissions requirements.

* Review and record GPAs, test scores and bank statement information.

* Collaborate with Registrar, Financial Services, and Admissions teams.

* Retrieve documents from several secure websites.

* Correspond with students, parents, and other institutions regarding documents.

* Facilitate annual and bi-annual trainings for records student workers.

* Organize SEVIS data processing under Department of Homeland Security (DHS) guidelines and maintain data and quality control management.

* Stay current with regulatory and legislative rules, regulations, and updates affecting international students on F-1 visas.

* Monitor, maintain, and track student F-1 visa status, and update records in the SEVIS database and university systems.

* Advise students with petitions, applications, and other standard issues related to F-1 visa status.

* Advise on other personal, financial, enrollment, health insurance, travel, taxes, and scholarship/grant matters.

* Design and/or deliver orientation programs, training, and online training modules.

* Plan and deliver other training for students and colleagues on regulations and updates.

* Field prospective student calls related to application status or submission questions.

* Assist with additional Admissions and International Records responsibilities and functions as needed

* Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

* Strong computer literacy

* Experience in a technology-dependent environment

* Excellent listening and communications skills

* Self-motivated, highly analytical, organized, and extremely detail-oriented

* Candidates should have solid problem-solving and customer service skills as well as interpersonal and organizational abilities.

* The successful candidate must be an active member of a local Church.

Preferred Requirement:

* A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent experience is required.

Work Conditions:

* Standard office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

* Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
