Location: Tulsa, OK

Days and Hours: Varied

Pay: Competitive pay based on experience; additional pay for technical school certification, associate degree's, bachelors' degrees, etc; additional pay if fluent in Spanish; WORLD CLASS PAID on-the-job training; $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Position:

The Donor Services Alternate Supervisor assumes responsibility and leadership for all aspects of the donor room or mobile blood drive ensuring a safe, pleasant and efficient process for the collection of quality blood products as needed. Actively participating and working side by side with the team, keeping them motivated and engaged. The Alternate Supervisor will assume the role of a Phlebotomist or Tech when not assigned as the supervisor for the day.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Reliable transportation and a working telephone
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience (external candidates)
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred
  • CPR certified once released
  • Ability to motivate staff to achieve daily and monthly goals
  • Flexibility to work extended shifts as needed to meet blood inventory needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while supervising staff
  • Strong leadership, customer service, technical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to write legibly and use proper grammar
  • Ability to speak before small/large groups
  • Diplomatic, enthusiastic interpersonal style and excellent problem-solving skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), organizational policies (i.e. Donor Services Handbook), OSHA standards and regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain competency in all areas of responsibility.
  • Conduct daily huddle meetings to foster communication of daily goals, mobile group information if applicable, successes and any pertinent information.
  • Monitor the collection activities and serve as a resource for donor eligibility and phlebotomy complications.
  • Supervise and assign responsibilities to all staff and volunteers. This includes effectively and discreetly solving personnel and donor problems, addressing procedural or behavioral problems and making verbal or written reports to the director/manager as the situation warrants.
  • Continually assess the overall collection process ensuring efficient donor flow and staff utilization, monitor operations to ensure a high quality of customer service incorporating concepts of HEART.
  • Review and/or documentation of donor services records (i.e. Quality Control (QC), Automated Collections Procedure Record's (ACPR), Quality Incident Report (QIR), Reaction Reports, Donor Deferrals, Donor Record Form (DRF) etc.) as directed.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report problems to appropriate staff in accordance with SOP and policy.
  • Monitor collection and automation conversion rates to ensure that goals are achieved.
  • Ensure staff is engaged and supporting GBF efforts.
  • Support and engage team to ensure high perform on key performance metrics.
  • Perform and assist with annual staff performance appraisals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and professionalism.
  • Ensure the collection site is neat and organized and optimizes donor confidentiality.
  • For mobile operations, maintain initial and ongoing communication with the drive coordinator.
  • Maintain effective communication with the donor recruiter or contact center partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
