Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Specialist to join our team. As a Youth Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to children and adolescents in various settings. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals and contribute to their personal growth and development.
Duties:
- Provide direct care and supervision to youth in a safe and nurturing environment
- Create and implement age-appropriate activities and programs to promote social, emotional, and educational development
- Foster positive relationships with youth, families, and other professionals involved in their care
- Assist with conflict management and resolution among youth
- Collaborate with social workers, child welfare agencies, and other professionals to ensure the well-being of youth
- Educate youth on important life skills such as communication, problem-solving, and decision-making
- Mentor youth by serving as a positive role model and providing guidance and support
- Implement strategies to address behavioral health concerns and promote mental wellness
- Support youth with special education needs by implementing individualized plans
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a childcare or similar setting
- Strong conflict management skills to effectively handle challenging situations
- Knowledge of social work principles and child welfare practices
- Ability to educate and mentor youth from diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with special education programs and behavioral health interventions
