As a Dishwasher / Dietary Aide you will provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures. The main job duty is dishwashing, but you'll also be serving and helping to prepare meals that are tasteful and appetizing in appearance and make sure that meals are delivered on-time and at a proper temperature. You will be detail oriented as you serve meals according to the tray cards. You will be a vital team member to accurately follow the orders for every resident.

How You'll Contribute:

• Food preparation, cooking, baking, serving, and clean up.
• Prepare meals according to menu, following recipe and production requirements

Organization and Storage: Sort, stack, and store clean dishes, glassware, and utensils in an organized manner to facilitate easy access for kitchen staff and dining service.

Maintain Cleanliness: Regularly clean and sanitize dishwashing areas, sinks, and surrounding surfaces to ensure a safe and hygienic workspace. Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the Culinary Director or Maintenance staff promptly.

Waste Management: Assist in the proper disposal of food waste and trash from the kitchen area, adhering to waste management guidelines set by the facility.

Collaboration: Work closely with the culinary team to support a smooth and efficient workflow during meal preparation and service.

Hygiene and Safety: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring that the highest hygiene standards are maintained at all times. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Follow Procedures: Follow established procedures for dishwashing and cleaning tasks, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards.

Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, reporting any concerns or issues related to dishwashing or kitchen cleanliness.

Training and Development: Stay informed about the latest dishwashing techniques, equipment, and safety protocols through ongoing training sessions.

Resident Interaction: Interact with residents in a friendly and respectful manner while performing your duties, fostering a positive and inclusive community atmosphere.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of proper sanitation and safety practices related to dishwashing and food handling.
• Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment effectively and safely.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the dishwashing area.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Compassion, patience, and understanding of the needs of elderly residents in an assisted living facility.
