Site Reliability Maintenance Manager

We’re hiring a Site Reliability Maintenance Manager to ensure Oishii's innovative indoor vertical farming technologies experience 100% uptime, operate at peak efficiency, and guarantee plant and worker safety. In this role, you will be building standard operating procedures, overseeing maintenance managers, their technician teams and systems, while in close collaboration with engineering and operational stakeholders.

Leveraging your background in engineering and maintenance of complex and diverse factory automation technologies, you will work to maintain and improve systems including irrigation, lighting, robotics, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration. You will utilize people, project, and operations management toolsets to oversee a system that functions 24/7/365. Fascinated with new technologies, you are excited to work in a fast-changing environment which involves the continuous improvement of systems and implementation of new innovations.

This role reports into the General Manager and is part of the site’s senior management team.


What you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the maintenance function for the site, ensuring appropriate staffing and training to oversee the continuous operation of the indoor vertical farming facility.
  • Build and oversee standard operating procedures for preventative maintenance and reactive and emergency response.
  • Develop and oversee maintenance key performance indicators, reporting directly to site general manager and senior management.
  • Develop and oversee maintenance equipment and spare parts, ensuring proper inventory of critical equipment and rapid procurement of parts when needed.
  • Oversee the rapid and effective response to all grow-system related problems.
  • Oversee the troubleshooting of electrical, automation, robotics, controls, mechanical, and plumbing systems, coordinating with engineering department stakeholders and external stakeholders as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the technology and process and coordinate with engineering, plant science, and operational stakeholders to implement
  • Ensure planned maintenance procedures are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate and manage the proper documentation of all planned and unplanned maintenance tasks
  • Develop and manage maintenance contracts.
  • Coordinate cross functionally across the organization.
  • Additional projects as assigned.

What we look for in a Site Reliability Maintenance Manager:

  • B.S. in engineering discipline with 10 years of experience working in complex manufacturing operations with high levels of automation equipment.
  • 5 years of experience managing maintenance supervisors/managers and technicians in automated factory environments.
  • Comfortability working with diverse electrical, mechanical, controls, automation, generators, HVAC, and plumbing systems
  • Excel at working with tools and safety equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Impeccable track record for managing safety programs.

  • Role is on site and based in Phillipsburg, NJ.

  • Role requires oversight of a continuously operating facility and the ability to oversee and respond to maintenance incidents outside of normal business hours.
