Oishii is currently seeking a motivated, experienced Project Superintendent to lead complex national and eventually global farm deployments, providing coordination, planning, and supervision to assistant superintendents, contractors, and the Oishii engineering team at project sites. In this role, you will be responsible for everything that happens or fails to happen on Oishii’s project sites. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary, as you will be interacting with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success. As Oishii builds the most advanced vertical farms in the world incorporating various technologies, experience with industrial processes and mechanical systems and an extreme attention to details is highly preferred. You must epitomize Oishii’s core values of efficiency, teamwork and focus as you drive results overseeing complex projects. 

As Project Superintendent, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with all project requirements 
  • Providing direct supervision on-site with all contractors and Oishii staff to ensure all technical and time requirements are met, ensuring consistent communication among all parties 
  • Planning and implementation to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule
  • Identifying and flagging all conflicts proactively
  • Reviewing construction documents for completeness and constructability
  • Reviewing and understanding contract documents
  • Coordinating plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies and providing said documentation for future learnings
  • Participating in the development and management of a project schedule to include three and six week look ahead schedules
  • Developing a site logistics plan
  • Handling the utilization of Oishii equipment and tools
  • Collaborating with project partner superintendents

Coaching, Supervisory, And Development Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site project orientations and site safety reviews
  • Conduct effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetings
  • Supervise project partners, trade foremen, and crews
  • Responsible for the mentoring, management, and timely performance evaluation of Assistant Superintendent(s), General Foremen, and Foremen
  • Interview, hire, transfer, and if needed, terminate trade workers
  • Ensure proper task coding of work hours on time cards
  • Manage and track work progress and trade productivity
  • Lead trade team member training, ensuring they are current prior to starting task

Other Duties As Assigned, Including

  • Provide high level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members
  • Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions
  • Find opportunities to improve processes and procedures

Project Superintendent requirements:

  • Minimum eight years construction experience with three of those years having supervisory experience
  • Experience with large scale $10M , multi-year projects
  • Experience leading projects focused on industrial, mechanical, water, and refrigeration systems, especially those that are mission critical in nature (i.e. data centers, hospitals, etc.)
  • Demonstrate ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Microsoft Office skills at an intermediate level
  • Positive professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Oishii values
  • Willing to travel in “deployment-style” increments, where you will be on site at new project locations for extended periods
