WHO WE WANT

We are looking for a temporary assistant store manager at our Oiselle Flagship Store at University Village in Seattle, WA, who can work key morning and midday shifts for a 2 to 3-month period, beginning as soon as possible. Someone in this role can expect to work a full-time schedule and mixture of week day and weekend shifts, with two days off per week. This role will be part of a store leadership team who works collaboratively to create the kind of store vibe that offers a positive customer experience and a sense of community that welcomes, supports, and inspires people who may be long-term fans or may have just discovered Oiselle through their interest in the brand or the sport of running. If you have experience with retail operations, recruiting, training, and developing part-time retail associates to support store sales, organizing and displaying product, and hosting community events, then this may be a great opportunity for you! This role reports to Oiselle's Retail & Wholesale Manager.IN THIS CONTRACT ROLE, YOU WILL:
  • Store Project Organization & Store Maintenance
    • Act as point person for contacting the Retail & Wholesale Manager about maintenance and issues with the physical structure of the store.
    • Update store calendar for promotions, celebrations, birthdays, and anniversaries.
    • Spearhead store organization and cleaning projects that improve workflow, store appeal, and sales associate productivity through Asana.
    • Create a weekly task list for store sales associates.
    • Update the store opening and closing tasks list (seasonal)
  • Assist with Store Inventory Management & Inventory Organization
    • Work with Retail & Wholesale Manager to perform weekly cycle counts, updating inventory in DEAR and Shopify for accuracy.
    • Maintain organization of products in store bins, store loft, and storage unit.
    • Streamline product organization so sales associates can perform their roles better and more efficiently for our customers.
    • Perform inventory receiving weekly and during the launch of new products.
    • Submit inventory transfer orders when Part-Time ASM and Retail & Wholesale Manager aren’t available.
    • Assist with visual merchandising.
  • Store Staffing Support
    • Help Retail & Wholesale Manager and Part-Time ASM to manage Flagship shifts changes and coverage in When-I-Work App.
    • Be a soundboard between Retail & Wholesale Manager and sales associate staff.
    • Help update and curate content for the Employee Handbook & Training Manual.
  • Supporting Customer Order Management & Customer Care team
    • Assist Retail & Wholesale Manager in tracking in-bound ship-to-store orders and special orders. 
    • Be in communication with the Customer Care team when orders are placed at the store for fulfillment at the warehouse, when there are delayed or late customer orders, or supporting Customer Care team requests over Slack.
  • General management of store staff and operations will also include:
    • Maintain ongoing communication with the Retail & Wholesale Manager and Part-Time Assistant Store Manager.
    • Help ensure adequate coverage to published store schedules when exceptions and emergencies arise.
    • Send web return orders back to the warehouse in a timely fashion.
    • Monitor on-hand cash balance within agreed upon limits; manage change orders and deposits.
    • Updates to POS, TV, and music systems, and ensuring such changes are communicated and documented with the store management team and staff.
    • In addition to administrative and operational requirements of the position (i.e. mgmt. meetings, staff meetings, scheduled and impromptu), overall schedule will include on-floor sales and operations shifts at the store, event management and other special projects as requested. As a salaried position, minimum hours are 40 hours/week which includes occasional overtime.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned from time-to-time as needed to support the goals and objectives of the retail store operations.
KEY ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Prior customer service and/or retail operation experience involving systems and manual processes in a small specialty shop would aid in on-boarding.
  • Positive problem-solving style of communication – loves to listen and problem solve. 
  • Detail oriented and has strong consistent follow through to ensure accuracy of resulting customer records.
  • Comfortable working with multiple disparate systems to process transactions and able to maintain consistency in execution. Comfort using web-based systems, Google Suite, Microsoft applications (Excel, Word), Shopify, DEAR, Loop, EasyPost, and Slack.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple requests and prioritize, seek direction when needed and takes the initiative to look for assistance.
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy kindness, clarity, and dependable teammate. 
  • A running and apparel enthusiast who can quickly empathize and understand a customer’s experience and help resolve issues while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, and a continued affinity for the brand.
