Description

Excel Transportation & Disposal, a K-Solv Group Company provides turnkey waste management services to manage and transport all hazardous or non-hazardous waste streams from non-bulk to bulk packaging. We will collect representative samples of the waste streams for submittal to an accredited environmental laboratory for proper analysis/waste characterization.

We are seeking a motivated, qualified individual to join our company as a Class A CDL Truck Driver. The CDL Truck Driver will be responsible for providing waste removal and transportation services by collecting hazardous or non-hazardous materials and transporting to a post collections facility for proper disposal. All work will be performed in accordance with applicable guidelines, DOT, and Company safety procedures. 

This will be a local driver position but will be required to travel out of town / overnight depending on business needs. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Operate a tractor trailer, vacuum, or roll off truck to service customers by collecting hazardous or non-hazardous materials and transporting to a post collections facility 
  • Service out of city or state customers as job demands 
  • Read work orders for assigned job and designate proper hoses, chemicals and other equipment required for assigned job
  • Responsible for hookup and breakdown of equipment using proper tools and procedure
  • Assist with the removal/vacuum of liquids from varies sites, including but not limited to roadside spills
  • Perform duties to include but not limited to, placing liners in roll-off boxes, binding down roll-off boxes, open and close roll-off box doors, and mounting and dismounting of the truck repeatedly 
  • Examine work performed to ensure conformance to Company and customer specifications 
  • Perform pre and post trips to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in operational condition 
  • Maintain open communication with operations, leadership, and customers 
  • Maintain electronic logs (ELD) of working hours and of vehicle service or repair status in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations
  • Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
  • Follow safe operating practices, including lock out/ tag out procedures to ensure proper operation of the truck
  • Adherence to all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, USCG, and EPA regulations and standards
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications


Requirements 

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), desired but not required 
  • Must be 21 years of age or older 
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License – Class A 
  • Ability to obtain a DOT physical from a Company approved provider
  • Minimum of one (1) year of commercial truck driving experience 
  • Experience operating a standard transmission on a commercial truck 
  • Experience operating a vacuum or roll off truck 
  • Valid TWIC Card or willing to obtain within 90 days of employment 
  • X endorsement or willing to obtain within 90 days of employment 
  • Must be able to meet criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards

  • Ability to travel out of city or state as job demands 
  • Demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend associated documents and maps
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to work other than scheduled times as necessary to meet deadlines or ensure that daily work is completed
  • Physical stamina required for position and th ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. 
  • Ability to work in outdoor elements, unpleasant odors, exposure to fumes, and extreme weather conditions – heat, cold, etc.
