OHU Job Board is Hiring a Director of Recruiting Near Chicago, IL

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the Recruiting Director will be responsible for high-volume recruiting, managing, and executing the full-cycle recruitment process across multiple lines of service. The Recruiting Director is responsible for the successful delivery of services by the HR Recruitment Team by designing a recruitment strategy that aligns with the hiring strategy and priorities of the organization. This incumbent oversees all recruiting and staffing activities related to the selection, hiring, and onboarding of talent into OHU programs. The Director guides the recruiters in developing recruiting plans and marketing strategies while employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources and developing new and creative recruiting initiatives. The Recruiting Director is the ambassador for new hires to help further promote the organization’s brand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages the recruitment team in implementing full life cycle recruitment for designated positions, including developing sourcing strategies, posting positions, actively sourcing candidates, building effective talent pipelines, and leading assessment/interview processes, such as internal and external job fairs.
  • Supervises and coaches recruiters in utilizing creative recruiting techniques including but not limited to job board management, social media, cold calling, networking events, engagement with industry organizations and college/university recruiting.
  • Provides support in overcoming recruitment barriers and guides their effective escalation, monitoring recruiter’s candidate pipeline caliber and flow.
  • Attends HR/Recruitment weekly LOS calls as needed, to provide effective support and empowerment, and to assist in building candidate pipelines for some positions.
  • Meets with Executive Directors and MarCom monthly to develop LOS recruitment strategies and to address barriers to effective service.
  • Along with the CPO, build and launch a successful succession planning program.
  • Audit job descriptions biannually to ensure they are updated with current tasks, as well as work with each LoS to ensure job specific interview questions and scoring rubrics are in place for positions. Serves as recruiter for upper management level positions.
  • Serves as the senior liaison for talent acquisition between Human Resources, Hiring Managers, Vendors and External Customers.
  • Continually reviews recruiting process for effectiveness and ROI, providing feedback, tracking applicant data, and making changes, as necessary.
  • Actively manages and improves Applicant Tracking System (ATS) documentation and details throughout staff's recruitment process for compliance and reporting.
  • Coaches recruiters in effective candidate interviews for specific administrative and operational positions including (but not limited to): obtaining candidate availability, managing candidate paperwork, scheduling interviews in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and confirming interviews.
  • Establishes effective collaboration with the HR Onboarding team, HRBPs, and Payroll to assist with the onboarding of new employees, including drug screens, system set-up, announcements, bonuses, and new employee paperwork.
  • Oversees continuous quality improvement of Recruitment program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience 5-7 years of experience in full life cycle, high volume recruitment. Direct supervisory experience of at least 3 - 5 years.
  • Certification PHR; SPHR preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU-required levels of coverage for auto insurance.

  • Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and adaptive skills to expand software application skills, as necessary.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and ensure confidentiality.
