Scope of Position

Under the supervision of the Medical Center Security Dispatch Control Center Supervisor (Lieutenant), serves as a Lead Dispatcher (Sergeant) for the Medical Center Security Dispatch Control Center. Assists with recommending plans and implementations for security programs and procedures specific to the Control Center operations. Ensures that all aspects of the Security Control Center operate in accordance with departmental procedures. Responsible for supervising activities and operations of the Security Control Center for the assigned shift and ensuring accountability for staff actions and operational productivity.

Position Summary

Receives and/or relays radio communications, telephone calls, pages, correspondences and monitors alarms, security systems and surveillance equipment and maintains daily logs. Quick thought and actions are required when working with safety and security matters, and the incumbent must act as a courteous liaison between the Department of Security and Hospital staff, departments, patients and visitors. Must be able to multi-task while working in a fast paced environment. Expected to competently operate telecommunication equipment, radio equipment and have good computer and data entry skills. Must also possess strong verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. 2 years of relevant experience required.
