Responsibilities

  • Explains procedure to patient and family. Answers pertinent questions thoroughly.
  • As required, accurately performs 12 lead EKG’s and has thorough working knowledge of arrhythmias.
  • As required, accurately preps and patches patient for stress test, and is able to select the protocol appropriate for the patient in the stress system. Additionally, has thorough working knowledge of arrhythmias.
  • Selects and injects appropriate radiopharmaceuticals according to defined procedures and regulations.
  • Performs SPECT imaging procedures according to written protocol.
  • Prepares, dispenses, and administers radiopharmaceuticals and related materials in accordance with radioactive materials license and the facility’s written policies and procedures.
  • Consults with physician regarding preliminary findings and next steps for patient. Reports any critical or abnormal findings to the reading physician.
  • Assists in answering telephones as needed.
  • Reports concerns to the service provider, technical director and lab manager.
  • Maintains the policy and procedure manual as well as the Healthcare Facility binder.
  • Trouble shoots nuclear equipment, including but not limited to the SPECT camera, reporting any issues to the service provider and lab manager. Works with the service provider to determine an effective solution to the problem.
  • Consults with physician regarding preliminary findings and next steps for patient. Reports any critical or abnormal findings to the reading physician.
  • Performs RSRR and RTM according to NRC, ODH, and DOT regulations.
  • Oversees the daily hotlab records, surveys, and radiopharmaceutical documentation.
  • Evaluates and recommends new products and equipment as needed.
  • Participates in all ODH, NRC, and physicist inspections as well as Radiation Safety Committee meetings. Works with the lab technical director and manager to coordinate annual radiation safety training for all staff working in the Nuclear Stress labs.

Qualifications

Minimum of Associates of Science from an AMA approved school.

  • Current ARRT(N), and/or NMTCB license, current ODH license, BCLS certified.
  • 0-4 years of previous Nuclear Medicine Experience. 
  • Working knowledge of a dual headed SPECT camera, stress testing, NRC regulations, ODH regulations, maintenance or establishment of standard and procedures in accordance with current guidelines.
  • Thorough understanding of the ODH nuclear license
  • Thorough understanding of Nuclear regulations and the Accreditation process for Nuclear Cardiology
  • Knowledge of patient assessments and evaluations.
  • Ability to utilize equipment QA programs to its fullest and to utilize and quality improvement methods.
  • Maintains CEU’s

Preferences: 

  • ACLS certification.
  • NCT license preferred.

Pay Range

USD $35.06 - USD $52.28 /Hr.
