What You Should Know About the RN Excellence Educator Role:
  • This is a full-time position.
  • Schedule will include Monday-Friday with first shift hours.
  • This role would require you to present in front of small and large group, but also provide one-on-one support.
  • We provide superior care and superior services to patients at their end-of-life journey. Only those who have a heart for hospice will succeed 

The RN Excellence Educator Essential Duties Are:

  • Prepares, facilitates, and presents new staff orientation to ensure all compliance standards are met.
  • Ensure new hires are clinically competent through training and supervision.
  • Trains and supports the use of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for all clinical staff.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of Ohio’s Hospice education and training, including curriculum assessment, development, presentation, and evaluation.
  • Supports staff in their attainment of Hospice and Palliative Certification and recertification.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of nursing practice, hospice standards and regulations, and organizational direction and uses this knowledge in supporting and educating staff.
  • Assist in other activities and departments when requested,
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities to support the quality of Ohio’s Hospice services.

RN Excellence Educator Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio without any board actions.
  • Certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine (CHPN) preferred; required within two years of employment. (Eligible upon completion of 500 hours in last 12 months of hospice/palliative experience.)
  • CPR Certified
  • Computer skills sufficient to train staff to properly document services and care
  • Ability to drive as required during daytime, nighttime or inclement weather.
  • Valid Driver's License with Safe Driving Record
  • State Minimum Automobile Insurance Coverage
