Ohio Restaurant & Hospitality Association is Hiring an Operations and People Engagement Manager Near Columbus, OH

Job Summary: The Sr. Manager of Operations & People Engagement is an integral member of the Ohio Restaurant & Hospitality Alliance (ORHA). This person coordinates administration/operations for our 501c6 and 501c3, and acts as the integrator for the organization. The position also coordinates and supports people engagement, including hiring, orienting, training and inspiring our staff. The position reports to the President & CEO.

Operations - Working with Sr. Leadership, this position:

  • Coordinates with the President & CEO to maximize the organization’s performance and efficiency. This includes acting as our integrator for the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), championing L-10 meetings, Rocks and Accountability, plus helping coordinate project management within the organization.
  • Coordinates Standard Operating Procedures across the organization, assesses opportunities and return on investment, recommends new procedures and implements them successfully.
  • Supports the President & CEO with Strategic Planning, including Department Priorities, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Long-Term Strategic Plan and EOS.
  • Coordinates the assessment and implementation of innovation for ORHA, such as Digitization, Artificial Intelligence, standards for emerging tech (ie. ChatGPT) and other productivity enhancements and directs the Manager of Organization Growth Projects & Information in this area.
  • Coordinates elements of the organization’s Information Systems, including a Learning Management System (LMS), Association Management Software (AMS), and other Information Technology and software. In these areas, this position will work closely with the Managing Director of Finance & IT on the organization’s tech hardware, software and cloud-based systems, as well as the Manager of Organization Growth Projects & Information.
  • Coordinates with the Hospitality Institute of Ohio (formerly the Education Foundation) in the pursuit of grants and other funding for our 501c3 and 501c6. Also coordinates with the Hospitality Institute on Workforce Solutions.

Other key support:

  • Working with the President & CEO and the Executive Assistant & Office Manager, supports the internal coordination of Board of Directors, including governance, communications, portal and the HR Committee.
  • Working with the President & CEO, the Managing Director of Membership & Business Development and the Managing Director of Marketing & Communications, supports successful collaboration with the National Restaurant Association to grow national sales, ServSafe use and other national programs that help our members and generate revenue for the ORHA.
  • Working with the President & CEO and the Managing Director of Government Relations & External Affairs, supports key advocacy and events projects, as needed.
  • Working with the President & CEO, supports our engagement with the Council of State Restaurants (CSRA).

People Engagement

  • Working with the President & CEO, the Executive Assistant & Office Manager and our HR Vendor Partner:
  • Coordinates the hiring, orienting, training, managing and inspiring our staff to help them achieve their personal goals, pursue their careers and contribute to the ORHA’s goals. This involves interaction with the ORHA’s human resources vendor partner firm and expert staff assigned to the ORHA.
  • Coordinates the annual review of the organization’s health benefits. This involves working directly with the ORHA’s benefits vendor partner firm and expert staff assigned to the ORHA.
  • Serves as a point of contact for staff on people issues, in addition to the President & CEO and the appointed representative of our HR vendor partner firm.
  • Supports the President & CEO in completing the annual performance management cycle, including year-end reviews, mid-year touch base meetings, 1:1s, SMART goals, budgeting, etc. Assists in the production of Total Rewards communications for staff and the analysis of employee compensation.
  • Supports the President & CEO with the HR Committee, Workforce Solutions subcommittee and work on HR Total Rewards with the Board and industry professionals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision:

  • This position will oversee the Manager of Organization Growth Projects and Information. It may also oversee Vendors, Contractors and other suppliers.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to respond to changing needs and priorities, shift attention among simultaneous activities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, and relationship database(s).

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience with office administration leadership is required, plus human resources/people, project management and analytical skills.
  • Trade Association and restaurant industry experience preferred, but not required.
  • Existing or comprehensive understanding of all facets of membership management within a non-profit organization preferred, but not required.

Education:

A bachelor’s degree in business administration is required. An MBA or Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management is desired.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
