Inpatient Psychiatrist for Columbus, OH

Seeking BC Psychiatrist for the Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry in Columbus, OH. We offer a competitive compensation program, PTO, and complete paid benefits, malpractice coverage, and we pay the tail. Lead the team, round, admit and discharge. We do the rest.

Our 130 bed Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is a 130 bed JCA certified Psychiatric Hospital treating Behavioral Health, Substance use, Dual-Diagnosis or Co-Occurring treatment, Trauma/PTSD for Adults & Geriatric Patients is actively recruiting a new Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our inpatient treatment team.

The Inpatient Psychiatrist position is a reasonable workload, good call schedule, Monday-Friday. The LOS is 7-10 days and the average census on this unit is up to 16 patients. The ALOS for the facility is 70.

We are in the Southwest heart of Columbus and provide the most comprehensive range of care for behavioral health services. Our staff provide the highest level of treatment for all individuals with a broad range of behavioral health illnesses, substance abuse issues and co-occurring disorders

Compensation range: $340,000 - $352,000/year

*Total compensation may vary based on additional services, including call coverage, administrative services, performance bonus, etc. Compensation may also vary based on productivity after initial guarantee period.

Responsibilities

Summary:

  • Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
  • Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
  • Ensure the physical health and care of patients, working constructively and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals is held to the highest standards.
  • Review and complete medical information for individual care plans.
  • Direct services and information in a timely manner, maintaining appropriate confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • One or more years’ experience as a staff physician with the population served by the facility preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Current license to practice medicine, by the state in which the facility(s) operates.
  • Board certification or certificate of admissibility for board certification in a behavioral health specialty.
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
  • Additional specific DEA credentials may be required, per state and facility regulations or policy.
