Ohio Gastroenterology Group, Inc. is Hiring a Learning Specialist: Physician Liaison Near Columbus, OH

Ohio Gastroenterology Group is the leading provider of general advanced GI procedures with several state-of-the-art facilities throughout Central Ohio. We employ a talented team of specialists who perform more GI procedures each year than any other practice in our area.
We currently have a full-time opening for a Learning Specialist: Physician Liaison
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Job Functions:
  • Create, develop and implement a comprehensive day to day new hire training for the Physician Liaisons, Revenue Cycle or Patient Experience department.
  • Provide support to new hires for daily questions regarding workflow and policy. Escalate if needed.
  • Assist in mapping out training plans for individual employees.
  • Serve as main point of contact for new hire on the job training within designated department.
  • Partner with practice operations manager in developing and or enhancing new hire training strategy.
  • Attends operations meeting within the department.
  • Keep up to date with operational practices, policies and strategy within the department.
  • Participate in content reviews with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and validity of all training deliverables.
  • Audit inbound and outbound calls to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Provide positive and constructive feedback to enhance patient care.
  • Track and monitor staff errors and provide suggestions for areas of coaching.
  • Travel to other satellite offices
Secondary Job Functions:
  • Participates and works with other leads and managers in developing good working relationships and processes throughout the office.
  • Attend all office meetings and in service as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient’s personal and financial information by utilizing HIPAA’s guidelines and regulations.
  • Any other tasks as requested by the physician, practice manager, human resource manager, and/or the office supervisor

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Skills to handle a multi-line phone system.
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of modern business communication, including style and format of letters, memoranda, and reports
  • Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages, including internet experience.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with little supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding health and financial information.
  • Neat appearance and professional demeanor.
  • Fluent in English.
Credentials and Experience
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have at least 2 years experience working in a medical environment
Special Requirements
  • Willingness to serve as a leader within the office
  • Willingness to learn new tasks, be cross-trained within office, and be flexible with work load to help office flow, including assisting co-workers.
  • Flexibility in working hours; willing to work occasional overtime.
Physical Demands
  • Applies the principles of body mechanics in lifting or moving charts, boxes, or equipment (occasional)
  • Must be able to independently lift 25 pounds (occasional)
  • Must be able to sit (frequent), stand (frequent), walk (frequent), stoop (frequent), bend over (frequent), and type on keyboard (frequent).
Work Environment
  • Medical office requiring some contact with adult patients
