OHB – Omaha Home for Boys is Hiring a Youth Advocate Near Omaha, NE

At OHB, we put the best interests of our clients first. Youth Advocates play a vital role in helping clients develop necessary life skills in the areas of education, health, housing, employment and relationships. To support client growth, Youth Advocates are responsible for teaching and guiding clients through daily activities, such as preparation for school, recreation, household chores, cooking and bedtime routines while also providing coaching, positive reinforcement and discipline. It is also the responsibility of Youth Advocates to create a positive environment in which clients can learn and excel.
Schedules Available:
Sunday 10am-10pm Monday 8am-6pm Tuesday 10am-10pm Wednesday 10am-4pm
Starting Wage: $16.50 to $18.50 an hour plus $1.00 shift differential for weekend shifts worked
Required Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ job-related experience, preferably in a client services department, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Must have an understanding of client and their different behaviors.
  • Willing to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to handle stress and exercise self-control.
  • Must have the ability to implement the motivational system in a positive and effective way.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid and safety and be able to obtain CPR certification.
  • Ability to effectively interact with sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences present in the organization’s service population, both individually and in groups.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and current auto insurance, and the ability to pass an extensive background check including drug screen.
