The Location:

Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Kahului location is a 254-bed nursing facility.

The Position:

We're looking for a passionate Head Restorative Aide (CNA) to assist restorative nursing program participants in active and passive exercises, ambulation activities, and activities of daily living skills. Serves as a role model for co-workers and supervises the activities of Restorative Aides (CNA) as directed. The care you provide promotes the resident's ability to adapt and adjust to living as independently and safely as possible - helping achieve and maintain optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning.

  • Responsible for directing and aiding residents in restorative nursing exercises and activities
  • Organize and prioritizes the daily assignments according to program and client needs. Ensure daily assignments are documented in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards.
  • Act as liaison between the Nursing Supervisor and the staff. Makes recommendations to improve operations or address problems in the unit.
  • Reports observations of changes in resident's condition to neighborhood charge nurse.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Current Hawaii State Certification as a Nurse Aide.
  • At least two (2) years experience as a full-time certified nurse aide.
  • Current medical/health screening including 2 step TB clearance.
