Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Central Sterile Technician you will play a vital role in maintaining competent care delivery to patients in our perioperative settings. Our team works together like a family and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:

  • You will assemble all necessary equipment and supplies to meet patient and surgeon needs.
  • You will demonstrate a concern for efficiency and cost effectiveness {Value Analysis.
  • You will follow through on problems that may compromise effective job performance by using appropriate chain of command.
  • You will must know microbiology, instrumentation and hand cleaning techniques of equipment and machines.
  • You will perform well in stressful and emergency situations.
  • You will be able to print appropriate doctor’s preference list, assemble case cart and fill requisitions.
  • You will display team spirit by assisting with special project assignments.
  • You will follow established policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection.
  • You will follow through on problems that may compromise effective job performance by using appropriate chain of command.
  • You will be knowledgeable to perform all functions and operations pertaining to the sterilizers. Responsible for operating sterilizers, aerators and their monitoring cleaning.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Successful completion of a program for operating room preferred.
  • CRCST certification required within 1 year of hire date.
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of medical supplies is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience is not required, but is preferred.
