OGDEN CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT is Hiring a MTSS Specialist - 24/25 School Year [LIC2846] Near Ogden, UT

The MTSS behavior specialist will be responsible for leading district-wide PBIS and Attendance implementation efforts, as well as supporting schools with Tier 2 ChAT implementation. This position will support Tier 1 and Tier 2 systems implementation in line with the district’s strategic plan (Nexus Elevated) and with the Student Advocacy Team’s core values of Success, Skills, Data, Systems, and Prevention.

This position will be on the 183.5 calendar with an optional 10 additional days.


Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS):

  • Support schools with social emotional learning goals as part of the district's strategic plan
  • Understand PBIS-Schoolwide in the Elementary and Secondary Level
  • Facilitate the district PBIS team (monthly)
  • Facilitate the district PBIS facilitators meeting (monthly)
  • Coach school teams on PBIS (monthly)
  • Provide district wide professional development on PBIS
  • Facilitate the Tiered Fidelity Inventory 2x yearly
  • Facilitate the Benchmark of Quality (BOQ) 1x yearly
  • Analyze TFI and BOQ data for school and district trends

Attendance

  • Understand Tiered Systems of Support for Attendance
  • Create, train, and coach Tier 1 and Tier 2 attendance systems
  • Facilitate district Attendance Team (monthly)
  • Facilitate the district Attendance facilitators meeting (monthly)
  • Coach school teams on attendance (monthly)
  • Provide district wide PD on Attendance
  • Facilitate the Tiered Attendance Checklist (TAC) 2x yearly
  • Analyze TAC data and district attendance data
  • Facilitate district Attendance work group
  • Ensure district attendance policies are in compliance with the law
  • Work with OSD youth court, JJS, and DCFS to provide support for students

Tier 2 ChAT (Child Assistance Team)

  • Work with other Student Advocacy team members to prioritize school teams for ChAT coaching
  • Attend designated school's ChAT meetings weekly or bi-weekly and provide coaching, support, and feedback
  • Train designated school's teams on Tier 2 ChAT interventions when needed
  • Coach school-based personnel with implementation of Tier 2 systems and interventions


Qualified Candidate Criteria (Academic)

  • Background in systems implementation (Preferably PBIS and/or ChAT)
  • Educational certification and experience (3 years minimum)
  • Masters degree (preferred) in education or other related field
  • Preferable counseling experience

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with and abide by school district policies, and stay current in changes in such policies through procedures described by the Board
  • Establishes and fosters a cooperative working relationship with building teams, as well as with other District personnel

  • Demonstrates high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct
  • Provides proper care and reasonable security for all District property in their custody
  • Makes use of technology for instructional purposes as well as for record keeping, administrative and other non-instructional uses as may be required
  • Performs such other tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor
