Ofab is seeking a 2nd Shift (2:30p.m.-11:00p.m.) Laser Operator. As a Laser Operator, you will be cutting steel plates up to 1.00" thick with a laser beam on one of our four Mazak machines. As the operator, you will be using computer generated code to cut out parts which have been nested together on a 5 foot by 10 foot plate of steel, aluminum, or stainless steel. You will be operating a CNC control with X, Y, and Z motion, so basic computer skills are required. Also, you will be changing consumable items on the laser head, so basic hand tool experience is helpful. In addition, you will be driving a forklift and lifting, reaching, and bending when you unload the cut parts from the laser table. You will need to know the different types of materials and be able to measure things using a caliper and tape measure, and some basic paperwork like quality records and work order sign offs will be performed. Laser Operators have a fast moving day that involves both your mind and a little physical activity. MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES.
