Oe Enterprises is Hiring an Employment Specialist/Qualified Professional Near Asheboro, NC

OE Enterprises is a North Carolina based non-profit serving individuals with disabilities in our communities for over 40 years. Our mission is to create opportunities for personal and professional growth for persons with disabilities and other barriers. The Supported Employment Job Retention Coordinator will work with individuals with disabilities to ensure they are able to maintain competitive integrated employment in a job of their choice. OE is looking for a highly organized individual who can work independently, with minimal supervision. Someone with strong verbal and written communication skills is required. A basic level of familiarity with Microsoft Office Systems is preferred. Experience in goal writing and implementation also preferred. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, good driving record, clear background & drug screen are required.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Become knowledgeable about ADA, Medicaid, Social Security, and other benefits.
  • Liaise with community employers and workplace managers; build effective relationships.
  • Advocate for client on the work site. Develop and implement service goals and activities.
  • Document time spent & performance to goals; and in all aspects of job retention.
  • Maintain client records in compliance with standards.
  • Provide or arrange for case management services for job retention participants such as advocacy with Social Security Administration, transportation and other community agencies.
  • Meet with, observe regularly, and interact with the clients in an effort to keep informed of any developments or problems to better serve the client.
  • Make referrals to OE's vocational programs.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders. • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Conduct orientation and training with support staff.
  • Participate in Admissions/Discharge, Program, and Placement committees.
  • Provide community resources training for clients.
  • Implement program evaluation activities, and revise program as needed.
  • Arrange for community training experience for the client.
  • Provide information and education to parents, caregivers, business community, and other interested parties on competitive employment and persons with disabilities.
  • Prepare billing for job retention services as rendered.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work standing for an 8-hour shift.
  • Able to drive/ sit for long periods of time.

▪ Able to work under varying climate conditions, indoors or outdoors, in cold or heat.

▪ Able to lift and carry a 50 lb. parcel across a large warehouse.
$18 - $22 an hour - Full-time
