Odyssey House is seeking an Intake Coordinator to join our Admissions team!

Location: Salt Lake City

Compensation: $70,000/salary

Schedule: Monday - Friday: 10 am - 6 pm

We are currently seeking an experienced and empathetic Intake Therapist to join our team. As an Intake Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting interviews, evaluations, and assessments of clients to develop personalized treatment plans. Your role will involve providing direct clinical services, coordinating care, documenting patient information, and intervening during crises as necessary. Familiarity with ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews, evaluations, and assessments of clients to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide direct, evidence-based clinical services to clients.
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and community resources.
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently using our online medical record system.
  • Intervene during crises to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Assessment Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in conducting comprehensive intake assessments, including gathering detailed information about clients' medical history, substance use history, mental health symptoms, psychosocial stressors, and treatment goals. 
  • Diagnostic Skills: Ability to accurately assess and diagnose a wide range of mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders using standardized assessment tools and clinical judgment. 
  • Clinical Interviewing: Strong clinical interviewing skills to establish rapport with clients, elicit relevant information, and assess risk factors for suicide, self-harm, or harm to others. 
  • Suicide Risk Assessment: Competence in conducting suicide risk assessments and implementing safety plans for clients at risk of self-harm or suicide.
  • Substance Use Assessment: Proficiency in assessing patterns of substance use, including frequency, quantity, duration, and consequences, and determining the level of substance use disorder severity. 
  • Mental Status Examination: Ability to perform thorough mental status examinations to evaluate clients' cognitive functioning, mood, affect, thought content, and perceptual disturbances.

Requirements

Licensure / Education / Prior Experience Required:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, counseling)
  • Licensure or certification as required by state regulations.
  • Willingness and ability to pass a criminal background check
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Must comply with annual TB tests, Flu immunization, and other required immunizations.
  • Experience in conducting interviews, evaluations, and assessments.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to provide evidence-based treatment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with ASAM criteria is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems is preferred.
  • Must meet employment eligibility
