ODYSSEY FAMILY COUNSELING CENTER, INC
Registered Nurse (Part Time)

General Description: The Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing nursing assessments , nursing services and general lab tests to clients as well as maintaining appropriate documentation regarding those services.

Supervisor: Clinical Director, but will work under the direction of the Psychiatric Provider and Medical Director

Supervisee: None

Description of Duties:

1. Provide appropriate direct services to assigned clients, including, but not limited to, the following: Nursing and Substance Abuse Assessment, Screening for communicable diseases (STD, TB, HIV), and Vital Sign recording.

2. Communicate with staff for any medical concerns identified that could impact client’s course of treatment at Odyssey Family Counseling Center.

3. Provide information, education, and testing to clients for HIV and Hep C.

5. Maintain and submit documentation to Imagine Hope regarding HIV and Hep C testing.

6. Provide referrals to community providers as appropriate for medical-related services.

7. Assist clients in locating low-cost medication resources as needed.

8. Maintain case records according to Odyssey and payer policies, ensuring that all documentation is completed and signed within Odyssey policy for documentation.

9. Assist clients with connecting with the psychiatric provider, including making reminder calls as necessary.

10. Obtain pre-authorizations for prescriptions.

11. Act as liaison between the psychiatric provider, clients, and their pharmacies, intervening as appropriate when problems occur.

13. Coordinate lab work for pick-up and reporting, and ensure that results are seen by the appropriate providers.

14. Ensure that appropriate medical records are requested and received for all clients receiving regular medical or psychiatric care outside of Odyssey.

15. Maintain and order all medical supplies, including drug screening and first aid supplies.

Qualifications:

1. Current Georgia license as a Registered Nurse and have a minimum of 2 years' experience in behavioral health/psychiatric nursing field as well as substance abuse disorders.

2. Able to assess for medical disorders common to substance abuse and mental health clients

3. Skilled in preparation of specimens for testing, including blood draws, urine drug screens, and administration of TB tests for substance abuse program.

4. Knowledge of commonly prescribed psychiatric medications and their indications and contraindications

5. Excellent patient-relations skills and experience working with substance abuse and general mental health clients

6. Knowledge of community health resources.

7. Able to use electronic documentation, with preference given to candidates with
CareLogic experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
