As the Buyer/Planner, you will be responsible for production planning, purchasing, and fulfillment. Working cross-functionally with several departments, you will also support Sales, Operations, and Engineering, as well as interface with Finance/Accounting, to drive production.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- MRP and Production Planning
- Create and maintain MRP/build plans with input from Sales, Finance, Marketing, Operations and supply chain partners.
- Perform what-if analysis and mitigation plans for supply chain or manufacturing
- Monitor build plan and inventory levels at CM and fulfillment
- Prepare and present MRP, inventory, and supply reports to
- Track and manage supplier delivery schedules and resolves supply
- Prioritize supply requirements, adjust for schedule
- Assist in identifying and resolving inventory
- Manage inventory levels to set and maintain safety stocks and lead
- Purchasing
- Manage all purchasing for parts, services, and logistics/transportation for Production and
- Identify alternate sources for components with better cost/quality/delivery.
- Request quotes; negotiate purchase terms, delivery schedules, and performance measurement with suppliers.
- Prepare and enter PO in QAD ERP System for confirmed
- Obtain internal approvals; document and communicate PO changes to
- Follow-up, track, and expedite goods/services purchases to meet production
- Verify receipt of goods on POs and input receipts in
- Production fulfillment
Qualification Requirements:
- 2-5 years of related industry experience in Production and MRP
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong Excel skills required
- Ability to communicate in with multiple departments and
- Demonstrable experience in creating comprehensive MRP reports and analyses
- Experience sourcing and purchasing from domestic and international suppliers
- Strong analytical skills required
- Must be highly detail-orientated
- Must be able to thrive in a start-up environment with constant change
- Must have a strong sense of ownership and be able to drive issues to closure
- Must be a self-starter who is hands-on with projects and assignments
- Experience with QAD or other ERP systems required
