Tax Analyst

Schaumburg, IL (50% Remote 50% Onsite)

TouchTunes, the world's largest in-venue interactive music and entertainment platform, is currently searching for an enthusiastic Tax Analyst to add to our corporate tax team. This role is for a motivated individual who is seeking variety and broad tax exposure in a corporate tax setting encompassing both direct and indirect taxes.

As a Tax Analyst on the corporate tax team, you will immerse yourself in a variety of tax projects, from troubleshooting to process enhancements in our tax systems and ultimately ensuring precise financial and tax reporting. Expect to work on global tax projects for TouchTunes entities in the US, UK, and Canada, including US Federal and State income taxes, local sales and use taxes, franchise tax, VAT/GST, Canadian income and indirect tax, and property taxes. This individual will be focused on various priority tax projects including reconciliation, reviewing tax liability, troubleshooting, analysis, and process improvement of the existing tax ERP system to help achieve more accurate financial reporting.

This role plays a pivotal role in supporting the annual audit, handling US and Canada tax provisions, 1099 and 1042 withholding reporting, FBAR reporting, and vendor onboarding. Additionally, you'll oversee business licenses, registered agent representation, and annual report filings. You'll assist in tax compliance, general ledger reconciliations, and audit defense.

What your day-to-day looks like: 

  • Supports all tax aspects and filing deadlines for TouchTunes entities worldwide, including those in the US, Canada, and the UK.
  • Assists in tax filings and compliance requirements across various business entities.
  • Engages with the US, Canadian, and UK entities, fostering cross-border collaboration.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation for US Federal Tax audits.
  • Manages US State and Local Income Tax compliance and audit support.
  • Handles business license renewals, Secretary of State filings, and legal representation as the registered agent.
  • Takes on additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Assist in correspondence and tracking of tax refunds.
  • Supports reconciliation of tax general ledger accounts.

What you bring to the table: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in statistics/data analytics, accounting/finance, marketing, economics, CS, engineering, or related fields with quantitative coursework.
  • 3-6 years of experience in marketing or financial analytics, with a focus on web or mobile app analytics preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel, SQL, Google Analytics, Tableau, and similar BI tools, along with MMPs like Branch or Appsflyer.
  • Strong preference for B2C consumer mobile app industry experience.
  • B2B experience desirable, especially in marketplace businesses serving both consumers and small businesses.
  • Expertise in supporting paid marketing teams, including evaluating ad campaigns across various platforms.
  • Experience modeling and measuring impact on non-paid marketing channels like CRM, SEO, and social media preferred.
  • Bonus points for experience with TV, radio, or podcast advertising as "brand-formance" channels.
  • Familiarity with product or landing page A/B testing, and Appstore optimization.
  • Proven ability to synthesize data, identify trends, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Sense of humor to navigate tight deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with a passion for statistics and math.
  • Technical aptitude to understand and troubleshoot data infrastructure.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change, eager to tackle challenging measurement tasks.
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Music or entertainment industry experience is a plus.
