Ocius Technologies is Hiring a Drupal Developer Near Washington, OR

Role and Responsibilities

Anticipated Tasks

  • A. Participate in the development of plans for the redesign of the County intranet, HORIZONS – provide opinion of direction and suggest alterations or additions.
  • B. Review and advise on the current content in the site and whether or not ITS should leave content in or out of a potential migration effort.
  • C. Fully participate in any meetings and discussions, as invited, with partner Departments and ITS Digital Team members on the project, best practices, and recommendations.
  • D. Assist in replicating the development processes used on the public website redesign specific to an enterprise Drupal migration project. Continue the existing strategy for delivering features on a product roadmap over the length of the migration using agile methodologies that focus on defined interactions (sprints) that achieve the completion of features (stories) that are part of larger milestones (epics).
  • E. Participate and assist in function and feature development using the County Drupal development workflow.
  • F. Where warranted and assigned, provide Drupal training and development for HORIZIONS site developers and ITS Digital Team members, including teaching best practices for maintaining the code base, managing dependencies, patching, and contributing to open-source projects for ensuring the best possible feature set for ongoing development.
  • G. Provide, as needed and if needed, general or specific consulting and task assignments for the implementation of current Acquia hosting environment in terms of an intranet site. May include security and authentication techniques and protocols. Potential testing and documentation of APIs and other techniques associated with the acquisition of data and information from inside the County networks.
  • H. Accessibility review and training to ensure that all members of the organization, regardless of ability, can interact with the website’s content.
  • I. Search indexing and configuration optimization to ensure the search feature of the site delivers the best results and allows for advanced search using filtering (facets) and boosting techniques.
  • J. Search optimization and training on the use of tools to promote best practices to reach audiences using Google search, Bing, and other search engines.

2. Potential Tasks

  • A. Participate in user testing and usability program, potentially participating in the developing the plan.
  • B. Mobile optimization training and development to allow organization members to use the mobile web browser of their choice to access the site content.
  • C. Advise on the strategy for delivering features on a product roadmap over the length of the migration using agile methodologies that focus on defined interactions (sprints) that achieve the completion of features (stories) that are part of larger milestones (epics).

3. Deliverables

Provide deliverables as requested by the project participants and the core ITS Digital Team. These may include:

  • A. Attend and participate in all required GitHub Agile Board reviews.
  • B. Develop, submit for testing, and turn over to ITS Digital Team for live merge, Drupal development assignments.
  • C. Ensure tasks and assignments are managed and document via the project GitHub Agile Board.
  • D. Ensure tasks and assignments are not self-initiated but approved by the assigned manager.
  • E. Develop and deliver training sessions both for the ITS Digital Team and for general County Website publishers as requested. Training sessions for County Website publishers must be reviewed by ITS Digital Team prior to delivery.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $75,682.00 - $120,000.00 per year
